Pipelines for Natural Gas and Combustible Gases: Safe System Solutions from SANHA®

Gas installations demand the highest standards of safety, reliability, and durability. With pipeline systems from SANHA®, planners, installers, operators, and investors benefit from well-thought-out system solutions for natural gas, liquefied gas, hydrogen, and other combustible gases. The systems are suitable for various applications in residential and commercial buildings, industry, and public buildings. We explain why you should choose SANHA®.

The Right Solution for Every Gas Application

SANHA® offers different pipeline systems for gas applications, providing you with the highest degree of choice:

NiroSan® Gas: Premium Stainless Steel for the Highest Demands

The stainless steel press system NiroSan® Gas was specially developed for the safe distribution of natural gas, liquefied gas, biogas, and hydrogen. System pipes and press fittings made of high-quality stainless steel 1.4404 (316L) offer excellent corrosion resistance and long-term operational safety – better than many conventional materials such as 1.4401. Thanks to available dimensions up to 168.3 mm, the system is suitable for both classic building installations and larger industrial applications.

SANHA®-Press Gas: Proven Copper

For copper pipe installations, we also offer a proven solution with SANHA®-Press Gas. The system fittings made of high-quality copper are equipped with special yellow HNBR sealing elements for gas applications and ensure a secure connection with copper pipes according to EN 1057. The system is suitable for natural gas, liquefied gas, and hydrogen and impresses with fast, flame-free processing.

Gas Installations with Thick-Walled Steel Pipes

SANHA® Heavy Steel Press Gas was specially developed for gas installations with unalloyed thick-walled steel pipes according to EN 10220 / EN 10225. The system is suitable for natural gas, propane, and other combustible gases. It not only combines the robustness of classic steel pipe installations with the advantages of modern press technology but is technologically superior due to numerous unique design features:

Compared to stainless steel or copper systems, Heavy Steel Press Gas is often used where steel pipe installations are already established or preferred due to operational requirements.

Your Advantages with SANHA® Pipeline Systems for Gas

Maximum Safety

Safety is the top priority in gas installations. SANHA® pipeline systems meet the relevant approvals and testing requirements for gas applications. The ISO-controlled production of fittings and pipes takes place in our own German and European plants and is continuously checked in our own quality laboratories. Of course, all pipeline systems for gas are certified by DVGW, ÖVGW, KIWA, BSI, and many more (all certificates can be found under "Product certificates by country" or with the respective series).

Unique combipress® Technology

A real added value of many SANHA® systems is the unique combipress® technology. It combines tool compatibility, Push & Stay sliding adhesion, and the safety function "Unpressed Leaky" in one system. Installers benefit from high flexibility in tool selection, comfortable preparation of pressing, and additional safety during leak testing.

The SANHA® tool compatibility allows the processing of many systems up to 54 mm with SA, M, and V profiles and up to 108 mm with SA and M profiles. This means installers can often continue to use existing pressing tools and remain flexible in tool selection. The Push & Stay sliding adhesion ensures that the fitting holds securely on the pipe before pressing, without slipping off. This particularly facilitates pre-assembly and alignment of the installation. This is complemented by the UVUD function: Unpressed connections are reliably detected during leak testing, contributing to high installation safety.

Pioneer in Hydrogen Suitability

The energy transition is changing the requirements for modern gas infrastructures. Both NiroSan® Gas and SANHA®-Press Gas are suitable for hydrogen applications and have been certified as H2ready by KIWA and the DBI of the DVGW for years – incidentally, as the first press systems worldwide. With their proven suitability for hydrogen, NiroSan® Gas and SANHA®-Press Gas are already designed for numerous H2 applications today. This includes, in particular, the piping of electrolysers and hydrogen distribution lines in buildings.

Wide Range of Dimensions for Maximum Planning Freedom

Whether compact building installation or complex industrial application: SANHA® offers one of the most comprehensive product ranges for gas-carrying pipelines. The copper system SANHA®-Press Gas is available in dimensions from 12 to 54 mm, while NiroSan® Gas made of high-quality stainless steel 1.4404 (316L) covers pipe dimensions from 15 to 168.3 mm. Heavy Steel Press Gas is available up to 2”. This allows both small consumer connections and extensive distribution networks to be realized with a continuous system. Planners, plant engineers, and installers benefit from high flexibility in design and a significantly reduced number of system transitions.

Typical Areas of Application

SANHA® pipeline systems for natural gas and combustible gases are used, among others, in:

• Residential buildings and multi-family houses
• Commercial and office properties
• Public facilities
