Why threaded fittings?

Threaded fittings are mainly used to connect utility units such as valves, pumps or boiler connections. Our range of threaded fittings includes a large number of items that can be used to safely install and connect the piping system with such utilities. These include reducing nipples (male/female), double nipples (male/male), couplings (female/female), threaded fittings such as elbows and tees.

We offer all our threaded fittings with inch thread: parallel G-thread or conical R-thread. There are different materials from which threaded fittings are made.

Especially for drinking water applications, SANHA offers lead-free threaded fittings of the PURAFIT® series made of silicon bronze (CuSi, CW724R). This material complies with the European Drinking Water Directive as well as national laws and standards. The piping systems are naturally certified by WRAS.

Threaded fittings are used to securely connect pipes or pipe connections to each other. In contrast to other types of connectors or fittings, these designs have a thread and are therefore also able to safely make re-detachable connections, which can withstand pressures of up to 10 bar. This makes threaded fittings suitable for a very wide range of applications.

Advantages of screwed pipe connections

Pipe or connection joints with a thread offer the advantage over other connection systems that they can always be detached again despite their strength and safety. They therefore offer more flexibility than soldered or pressed fitting connections. Another advantage is that installers can use the screw systems regardless of the material used, whereas other types of connection are very material-dependent.

The most important thing is to choose the right thread between the pipe and the fitting. When using them, however, users should make sure that the screwed connections are accessible, as they can leak one day due to thermal stresses, for example.

Both the pipes and threaded fittings are internationally standardised. However, there are different versions of the fittings and other components for threaded connections. That means installers have a choice between different types such as nipples and couplings, reducers, plugs, caps, nuts, elbows and tees as well as crosses and bends. For the connections themselves, users should pay attention to whether they are conical or flat-sealing connectors.
