SANHA fittings installed in leading educational hub
SANHA’s innovative press fitting system was specified in a major new build to Manchester Metropolitan University student union building due to their experienced technical assistance and comprehensive application training allowing building services engineers CM Oxendale Ltd a stress-free installation.
The integrity of all the SANHA press connections was guaranteed after an initial training programme with the CM Oxendale Ltd fitters. This training is provided free of charge and delivered on site by an experienced and knowledgeable SANHA sales manager.
As well as guaranteeing the end product the training provides even the advanced installer the opportunity to obtain new skills. Mr Towler concurred: “The training keeps our guys refreshed as to the procedures required to effectively and correctly install the SANHA system.”
“We are completely happy with the outcome of the job, everything works well.”
In a substantial project for CM Oxendale more than 3000 metres of pipe was used including SA
NHA’s stainless steel gas pipes up to 108 mm and copper press fittings up to 108 mm.
The state-of-the-art facility included the installation of heating, plumbing, ventilation, air conditioning and control systems and SANHA’s comprehensive application process provided an efficient and effective end product.
Manchester Metropolitan University, one of the most extensive education centres in Europe, was in dire need of a new Student Union facility so planning began on the modern design in 2010.Working with main contractors for the project, Miller Construction, CM Oxendale Ltd immediately specified SANHA as their favoured pipe and fitting manufacturer due to their already commendable working relationship.
CM Oxendale Ltd director, Paul Towler said: “We have used SANHA in past projects which is the reason for specifying them again this time. It was up to us to specify the components and we decided to go with SANHA because we have a great working relationship with the team and their products.”
Although it was a fairly typical ‘bread and butter’ construction project for the team, Mr Towler said it was quite a large installation which required a reliable pipes and fittings system. Mr Towler added: “For a big job like this it was important to have a brand that you can trust and with SANHA that’s what CM Oxendale gets.”
Initial work on the project began in July 2013 and was completed, opening to the public, in December 2014. The three story building includes a bar and restaurant, a café and five separate bathroom facilities across the three floors. The integrity of all the SANHA press connections was guaranteed after an initial training programme with the CM Oxendale Ltd fitters.
