With a non-negotiable and very tight deadline in view, SANHA was the solution of choice for plumbing installers at a school site in West London.

The academic year for Sacred Heart High School 2015/16 has to begin promptly on September 1, so completion of its impressive state-of-the-art PE and science building needed to be swift.

The experienced team at Rossair, a mechanical and electrical building service installation company based in Alton, Hampshire, was appointed and specified pipe fittings manufacturer SANHA.

Nick Jennings, project manager for Rossair, and his team were called in to install the domestic services using copper pipes and press fittings.  SANHA technical sales manager Dave Lancaster provided Rossair installers with on-site training, a 31 point programme designed to inform and update the installers on material performance and installation techniques associated with SANHA systems.

“The SANHA products and tools are exceptional as long as you know how to use them properly. We have spent time going through other manufacturer trainings but compared to SANHA they are just not there,” said Nick Jennings.“Dave took us through all of the products, installation tips and tricks and health and safety when using the press tools and now I will be able to transfer that knowledge onto the next team of Rossair installers that are coming to do the second fix.”

Dave Lancaster added: “We can provide a lot of services for our customers to take the weight off their shoulders.  They want to know when they walk away from every press fitting that it’s going to be right, that it’s not going to leak.”

Construction began on the facility in September 2014 when main contractors Bowmer and Kirkland first turned over soil.  The school, established in Hammersmith, is a Catholic high school built on a site with a long Catholic tradition dating back to 1609.It was an easy specification choice for Nick Jennings who has used SANHA products for the last six years and returns to the manufacturer due to the quality and support provided. He added that although the price is higher than conventional fittings, it’s better in the long run: “The SANHA products go in quicker and are easier to inspect and manage; you have to weigh up the expense against the whole project.”

The SANHA products were supplied by Smith Brother Stores out of Southampton and Donna LeMay from SBS visited the site during installation saying: “Every joint is marked when pressed and signed by the engineer. I can honestly say I have never seen such a clean and well organised site.”
